The word “behold” here alerts us to pay attention to the surprising information that follows.
It is not bound up and able to receive medicine
"His arm is not wrapped up and it does not have medicine on so it can heal"
bandage
a soft piece of cloth that people put on wounds so that they will heal
so it will be not be strong enough to grasp a sword
