Put to death, therefore, your sinful desires

This is a metaphor showing that sinful desires should be completely and finally dealt with just as an evil person is put to death. (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metaphor)

and greed, which is idolatry

It is for these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience
