Paul continues to speak to the people.
## educated in this city at the feet of Gamaliel ##
"was a student of rabbi Gamaliel in here in Jerusalem"
## I was instructed according to the strict ways of the law of our forefathers ##
"They instructed me according to the strict ways of the law of our forefathers" or "The instruction I received followed the exact details of the law of our forefathers" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive]])
## I am zealous for God ##
"I have strong feelings and acts to do what I believe is God's will" or "I am passionate about my service to God"
## just as all or you are today ##
"in the same way all of you are today" or "just like you today." Paul is comparing himself with the crowd.
## this Way ##
"The Way" was the name given to the local body of believers in Jerusalem following penticoste. (See Acts verse [Acts 9:1](../09/01.md))
## to the death ##
Paul was willing to kill people who followed the Way.
## bear witness ##
"give a witness" or "testify"
## I received letters from them ##
"I received letters from the high priests and elders"
## I was to bring back in bonds ##
"They ordered me to bring back in chains" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive]])
