In the New Testament, this term is often used to refer to how Jesus' followers testified about the events of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.

Possible meanings: 1) that God was pouring out many gifts and much boldness upon all the believers, or 2) that the believers were held in very high esteem by all the other people in Jerusalem.
