from slavery to decay

Paul speaks of the uselessness of all things affected by sin as if they were a dead body rotting away. He then speaks about all things experiencing this as if they were slaves to a master. AT: "from rotting and dying" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metaphor)

into the freedom of the glory of the children of God

"Freedom" here is an idiom for the ability to live as one wants. AT: "to be able to live beautifully as the children of God" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-idiom)

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors in pain together even now
