These are Yahweh's words to the people of Israel.
some who escape the sword
The word "sword" is a metonym for soldiers who kill people using swords. AT: "some whom the soldiers do not kill" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metonymy)
when you are scattered throughout the countries
This can be translated in active form. AT: "when I scatter you in different countries" or "when I force you to live in other countries" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive)
I was grieved by their promiscuous heart that turned away from me
Yahweh speaks of the Israelites as if they were a woman who sleeps with many people. AT: "I was sad because they were like a wife who has left me to sleep with other men" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-synecdoche)
by their eyes that whored after their idols
Yahweh speaks of the Israelites as if they were a married woman who looks at other men and desires to sleep with them. AT: "by the way they desired strongly to worship idols" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-synecdoche)
they will show loathing on their face for the wickedness which they have committed
Possible meanings are 1) "their faces will show that they hate themselves because of the wicked things they have done" or 2) "their faces will show that they hate the wicked things that they have done."
