# before Yahweh

This means that they anointed him and declared him as king. The first time is described in [1 Chronicles 23:1](../23/01.md).

|
|
|
|
Here the throne of Israel is referred to as "Yahweh's throne," to emphasize that the people of Israel are Yahweh's people. Sitting on the throne represents ruling as king.
