Jesus replied, “Get away from me, Satan!…Honor only him as God.’”
This is a direct quotation. It can be stated as an indirect quotation: “Jesus told Satan to get away from him! In God’s word he commands his people, ‘Worship only the Lord your God. Honor only him as God.’” (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-quotations)
Jesus replied, “Get away from me….’”
Jesus refused to do what Satan asked. This can be clearly stated: “But Jesus said to Satan, ‘No, I will not do that. Get away from me….’” (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-explicit)
Get away from me
This imperative may also be translated as, “Leave me” or, “Leave me alone.” (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-imperative)
‘Worship only the Lord your God. Honor only him as God.’
This is a quotation within a quotation. The entire quotation can be restated so that this portion is an indirect quotation: “…he commands his people to wrship only the Lord their God, and to honor only him as God.” (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-quotesinquotes)
