Then God moved the cloud

The connecting word "Then" connects the Israelites moving through the sea with God removing the cloud so the Egyptians could see them escaping. God had put the cloud behind the Israelites so the Egyptians could not see them, but now that the Israelites were passing through the sea, God wanted the Egyptians to chase after them as had been their intent.
