# Connecting Statement:

Paul establishes that Christ is speaking through him and that Paul is wanting to restore them, encourage them, and unify them.

|
|
# Every matter must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses
|
|
|
|
Here a "matter" is an accusation. This can be stated in active form. Alternate translation: "Believe that someone has done something wrong only after two or three people have said the same thing" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-activepassive]])
