كان يوسف ولد يعقوب الحادي عشر .هو كان الولد الاول لرحيل .نسل اولادو الاتنين افرايم و منسى بيقوا اتنين قبائل اسرائيل .

اسم "يوسف"بالعبرية بشابهه لكل من الكلمة العبرية البعني "الاضافة و الزيادة" و الكلمة العبرية البعني "تلم و تفرغ"
جزء كبير من سفر التكوين خصصو لقصة يوسف ،وكيف استمر مخلص لله في الصعوبات الكتيرة وغفر لاخوانه الكانوا باعواه كعبد في مصر .
اخيرآ الله رفع يوسف لتاني اعلى مركز قوة في مصر و استخدموه عشان ينقذ شعب مصر و الامم المجاور ليها في الوقت الكان فيهو اكل بسيط .يوسف ساعد في انقاذ اسرتو من الجوع و جابهم عشان يعيشوا معاهو في مصر .
