the young woman will conceive

Some ancient versions and some contemporary versions translate, "the virgin will conceive," while others translate "the young woman will conceive."

This note doesn't explain why there is this discrepancy in translation. I suggest:

the young woman

The Hebrew word refers to a young woman of marriageable age. While it is not a word specifically referring to virginity, in ancient Jewish society it was assumed that women of this age were virgins. Therefore some ancient versions and some contemporary versions translate this as, "the virgin." Use the best word in your language for a woman of this age.
